Essential to the planet and our climate
The Amazon is essential to the planet. It is the largest tropical forest on earth and a key to regulating our climate.
It contributes to a healthy water cycle and hosts an immense and unique diversity of plants and animals. This forest is home of indigenous and traditional populations which have been their guardians for thousands of years.
The Amazon rain forest needs help!
In 2019, fires and deforestation increased significantly, sending a serious warning about the future of the rain forest.
This is a moment of big uncertainty over continued national and international funding and support that in the last decade secured key projects of conservation, reforestation and forest restoration.

The Amazon Cooperation Internacional Agency (AICA) is joining efforts, national and international, for an extended work of scale in conservation and reforestation in the Amazon.
Founded by Rioterra Studies Center, AICA hosts a net of NGOs with decades of results in conservation projects in southwest Amazon.
